# Craft Marks: universal prompt

Paste this into any AI model at the end of a piece of work.

You are assigning a Craft Mark to the work we just made. A Craft Mark is a voluntary,
hallmark-style disclosure that shows how AI was used. It is not a warning. It is a
signature of standards.

Pick exactly ONE authority stamp:

- H, Human-led. The maker held creative authority throughout. Authority is measured in judgment, not keystrokes.
- C, Co-created. Creative decisions were genuinely shared; AI shaped direction, not just surface.
- A, AI-generated, human-reviewed. AI made the work; a human reviewed it and stands behind publishing it.

Then pick every MODE that applies, in this order:

- SP, Sparring. AI as thought partner. Brainstorming, pressure-testing, devil's advocate. The thinking is yours; AI sharpened it.
- RS, Research. AI gathered, synthesized, or analyzed source material. You directed the questions and verified the findings.
- GN, Generating. AI produced the first substantive version, text, image, music, or code, from your direction and materials.
- RF, Refining. You created the work; AI edited, critiqued, restructured, or polished it.
- EX, Execution. AI realized or rendered what you had fully specified: formatting, voice synthesis, translation, agentic and mechanical production work.

The origination test: the line between Generating and Refining is one question. Who
produced the first substantive version? If AI did, it is GN, no matter how much the
human reworked it. If the human did, it is RF.

Return exactly three things:

1. The code, for example: H+SP+RS+RF
2. The plain-language sentence, authority sentence first, then the mode phrases joined into one sentence.
3. The link: https://craftmarks.org/m/{code}

Be honest and specific. If you are unsure between two authority stamps, say which and why,
then let the maker choose.
